Welcome to my blog !

Hello guys,,

Thank you for visiting. In this blog, I am going to be discussing about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR, for short) to which I believe it is really challenging because I must learn more and more about it.

I have read some interesting case studies in Indonesia about how CSR has helped companies to build good reputation in front of their public, not only to be environmentally responsible but also to treat their people (stakeholders) well. Therefore, I would like to explore how CSR can be a tool to both attract customers and position a company as the one that concern about social and environmental problems.

I will be addressing some case studies, either from Indonesia, Australia, or International. I’m hoping I could post some for profit and non-profit organisation. Also, I will be discussing about strategies and tactics they’re using.

I’m looking forward to receiving all comments and suggestions, so feel free !
Let's share our knowledge ^_^

All the best,

-Citra-

  1. Citra, I think that this is a very interesting topic as many companies have abandoned the CSR to maximise sales at the expense of livelihoods. I can only think Nescafe and all these other companies that are either exploiting farmers or workers or are major polutants to the environment and do not clean up. I am hoping to learn a lot too

  2. I agree with you, Mercy. CSR is an interesting but difficult topic. As one of my friends works at huge software company I know a little about their CSR concepts and I have to say: Unfortunately CSR is not only about being social responsible. The software giant I´m talking about developed programs for elementary schools, for instance. They tought children how to use their products, they sponsored new IT equipment and they gained great media awarness.
Nevertheless I guess their main target was to recruit future costumers to increase sales.

  3. This is definitely an interesting topic for corporate Indonesia at present. I am currently looking into similar areas in Indonesia through the use of ICT, mainly to benefit communities and staff but with a flow on effect to the organisations to make it more viable as an option for them. Would be very interested to discuss further with you- I know your post is old but you can e-mail me at joshua@springfields.asia
